sis and KANO MIYU: Voices at Sakai Co-op Festa 2024
On November 9, 2024, Co-op Festa at Ishibashi Nama Hiroba in Sakai’s Oizumi Ryokuchi let residents experience and enjoy consumer-cooperative activities. Beyond hands-on events, it combined local economy, culture and civic participation in a multifaceted festival, drawing visitors with varied programs again this year.
A festival joining experience, participation and local culture
Supplier booths offered products for purchase and experience. Visitors could inspect and buy agricultural produce and household goods. Truck rides and administrative and exhibition programs proved popular hands-on activities for children and adults alike.
One of Osaka’s four major green spaces, Oizumi Ryokuchi spans Sakai and Matsubara. Broad lawns, seasonal scenery, themed gardens and a Japanese-iris garden provided space for activities and performance, allowing a special festival experience in nature.
The highlight: sis’s performance
The major attraction was sis (SIS/T), beginning at 2 p.m. The group commanded attention on arrival and raised the festival atmosphere to its height. KANO MIYU, at center stage, showed a strong presence and excellent vocal and performance skills.
The set included “Dancing Queen,” “Love’s Battery” in Japanese, “Stay with Me” and “Aoi Sangoshou.” Moving freely among styles offered a rich musical experience, while MIYU’s detailed emotion and stage presence heightened immersion in each song.

KANO MIYU at the performance’s center
MIYU played a key role in capturing attention. Bright songs featured clear, energetic timbre; emotional ballads drew listeners in with delicate vocals and deep feeling.
Beyond delivering songs, gestures, expressions and directed gazes strengthened their messages and feelings. Coordination with the band improved the whole performance. This professional stagecraft made it more than festival entertainment, offering both musical polish and a cultural experience.
A civic festival combining culture and music
