A call to make love simple can sound irresponsible, as though another person’s worries should simply disappear. The interesting feature of “Simple Love” is that the person proposing simplicity also offers a place of acceptance. Permission to think less comes beside an invitation to feel comfortable nearby.

Natsuco’s performance survives in an official MBN vertical video. Returning to the original through it allows attention to a relationship’s attitude without adding a singer’s private story. Simple concerns how feelings are asked of another person, more than their quantity.

The responsibility behind “take it easy”

Simplicity cannot be completed by one person’s resolution. A relationship in which someone can relax must exist first. The title sounds like an invitation to remain close, rather than a compact definition of love. Promising to relieve a burden also means maintaining that place.

Telling someone they think too much is easy. Making conditions in which they genuinely need to think less is a different task. The distinction turns the title into an attitude more concrete than a slogan. It imagines a relationship that does not require a complicated heart to justify its complications.

Intimacy without constant verbal proof

Takashi Matsumoto wrote the words and Takeshi Sato composed the music. The speaker values the feeling of proximity over a long persuasive explanation. Simplicity becomes room for a feeling that has not yet been put into words.

A love song often directs attention to the urgency of a confession. This song invites consideration of what remains when its scale is reduced. Can people stay close without asking repeatedly for confirmation? Refusing to hurry another person into an answer makes simplicity a demanding condition.

A song lasting beyond one biography

Universal Music Japan places the April 1977 single and the contemporaneous album Rainbow in the period credited to Junko Ohashi & Minoya Central Station. Even when a listener remembers the title under one singer’s name, this history of recording and activity remains.

Further covers followed. In2023, Teichiku released PAPER MOON PROJECT’s “Simple Love,” sung by Shiori Sasaki. Junko Ohashi’s original, a newly arranged recording and natsuco’s broadcast offer different places to encounter the same address.

Take the title slowly. It can be heard as an invitation to explain the heart a little less here, rather than an assertion that love is inherently easy. Wanting another person to feel at ease can occupy the centre of a song without a major dramatic event.
