KANO MIYU’s April, from a fan meeting to Hakata Station — LOVE FM Kanou no Kanou SAY!!
DATE2026.04.12

On the April 12, 2026 broadcast of LOVE FM’s radio program “Kanou no Kanou SAY!!”, KANO MIYU spoke about recent activities, backstage experiences and moments shared with fans. The fourth episode covered a wide range of subjects: her fan meeting, an F1 public-viewing appearance, preparations for Sakura Festa at Hakata Station and the meaning behind her first photo album, “Akiramenaide” (あきらめないで; don’t give up).

The episode went beyond a routine update, offering a fairly clear picture of the directions in which she is expanding her work. Activities between Japan and Korea, in-person contact with fans, online reach and a regional stage connected to her roots came together in a natural and memorable progression.

The singer-songwriter from Omuta, Fukuoka, introduces where she is now

Opening the show, she noted that it had already reached its fourth episode. Although she was not yet entirely used to presenting alone, she said she approached the microphone each time hoping to give listeners an enjoyable experience. She then introduced her background again for first-time listeners.

Born in Omuta, Fukuoka Prefecture, KANO MIYU moved to Tokyo at 18 and continued working as a singer-songwriter. She explained that she began playing guitar and writing original songs at around ten, and performed regularly while living in Fukuoka. Following the 2024 Japan–Korea audition project “Trot Girls Japan”, she added, she has been traveling between Japan and Korea for performances and media appearances.

Brief as it was, the introduction made clear that her work is no longer confined to Japan, and that her connection with Korea has already become an important part of her current activities.

“Terminal” and “It’s a new world”: songs linking radio and TikTok

Early in the broadcast, she introduced her own song “Terminal” as a good fit for spring. Describing its seasonal sense of meetings and farewells, she noted that she had already played it on the radio several times.

She also discussed another song, “It’s a new world”. She created choreography for it on TikTok, which led to a fan-meeting benefit on March 7 allowing fans to film it with her. Some arrived having learned the dance; for those too shy to join in, she recalled easing the mood by saying it was fine simply to stand there.

This showed how she connects her songs with content that fans can join in and help expand, rather than treating them solely as music to listen to. By linking songs with fan experiences through TikTok, she suggested that her approach to her work is becoming more multidimensional.

March 7 fan meeting sells out: “A freer atmosphere than a concert”

One of the broadcast’s main subjects was the March 7 fan meeting. She said it had sold out and recalled being able to communicate more closely with fans in an atmosphere distinctly different from a concert.

The event included games and gifts. With White Day, the March 14 gift-giving occasion, approaching, she had prepared presents herself: cookies chosen on her manager’s advice, along with notebooks received from a painter and singer she knows in Korea. The meeting had two sessions, with gifts going to five people in each, ten in total. Recipients were decided through rock-paper-scissors.

These details conveyed more than the event’s format. They suggested how closely performers and fans could respond to one another, with an everyday warmth and intimacy different from the intensity of a large concert.

“The costumes took the most work”: wild for the first session, demure for the second

Clothes were a particular focus of her recollections. Calling them the element she had worked hardest on, she explained that she wanted to present completely different impressions: a wild style in the first session and a demure look in the second.

She paid attention to everything, including necklaces, earrings and shoes, and worked with a stylist on the overall direction. The second session’s softer look was especially well received; she encouraged fans who had not yet seen the photos on Instagram to take a look. Personally, however, she also loves a rock-oriented mood and would like to develop the first session’s wilder style further in future concerts.

This was more than a comment about attractive clothes. It revealed that she regards styling as an extension of stage performance and considers it in relation to the stage image she wants to build.

Behind the F1 public viewing: “I knew nothing at first, but studied hard”

She also spoke in some detail about appearing at the March 29 2026 F1 Japanese Grand Prix public viewing. She admitted that she had originally known almost nothing about F1, joking that her understanding had amounted to thinking drivers simply needed to go fast. Once her appearance was confirmed, however, she began studying it seriously.

She watched coverage and repeatedly asked an F1-loving friend questions on LINE to get up to speed. She described comedian Kukki!, who appeared with her, as very kind both onstage and off. Knowing that he too was an F1 beginner eased her nerves, and their shared position as newcomers was reassuring at the event.

Her account was notable for the seriousness with which she approached an unfamiliar field. Trying to understand at least the context before stepping onto a stage also reflects how she is expanding her range of activities.

Sakura Festa at Hakata Station: “More meaningful because I’ve been coming here since childhood”

She also mentioned “Sakura Festa 2026” at Hakata Station on April 7, which had not yet taken place when the program was recorded. Hakata Station was very familiar to her: as a child, she often passed through it with her mother on the way to lessons. Singing there again therefore felt particularly meaningful.

For her, Hakata Station is more than an event venue; it holds memories of growing up. The appearance can thus be read as more than a one-off local engagement, connecting her starting point with her present. Her own sense of having “come back” was natural in that context.

First photo album “Akiramenaide”: returning to a song written at ten

Another central subject was her first photo album, “Akiramenaide” (あきらめないで). She described it as more than a photo book, combining live photographs with seven original songs. In particular, she said the title track was the first song she wrote at ten, included with its lyrics almost unchanged.

This was a symbolic detail. Beyond announcing a new release, she offered her own explanation of why she had chosen that title now. She wanted to tell both herself and her fans not to give up, and said that feeling lay at the heart of the work.

The album can therefore be seen both as a result of her recent activities and as a return, in the present, to musical beginnings that reach back to childhood.

KANO MIYU offstage, through listener messages and social-media questions

The listener-message segment revealed a more familiar side of her. Responding to a fan who felt embarrassed watching their own TikTok footage from March 7, she said she too often revisits live and television recordings and reflects on them critically. Acting footage feels especially embarrassing, while she watches concert recordings as material for checking her singing and MC segments.

This suggests an artist who keeps revising her work through review and reflection, rather than relying on instinct alone. Her comment that she reflects critically before simply enjoying a recording can also be read as a sign of how seriously she takes her performances.

Asked whether she watches anime, she said she watches the series featuring Anya, effectively pointing to “SPY×FAMILY”. She added that she more often watches dramas, including Korean dramas. She also said that after singing “Zankoku na Tenshi no Thesis” on Fuji TV’s “Change Street”, her overseas following grew considerably. Responses from Thailand, the Philippines, Korea, Taiwan and elsewhere showed how her work was already spreading across borders online.

Strawberries as a sign of spring: everyday conversation gives radio its texture

A lighter segment turned to spring. She named strawberries as something the season brings to mind and spoke about the pleasure of comparing varieties, particularly Fukuoka’s well-known Amaou.

Mentioning varieties such as Tochiaika and Ibarakiss, she recalled tasting and comparing them, and said she would like to go strawberry picking if she had a day off. Such details may seem like minor asides in an article, but on radio they help communicate a person’s warmth and character: tastes, seasonal feelings and everyday life that do not emerge from stage appearances alone.

The dream inspired by Hannah Montana lives on in her work

Later in the program, she named “Hannah Montana” as the reason she dreamed of becoming a singer. Seeing it as a child made her want to sing, she said, also noting its twentieth anniversary in 2026. Recalling that she had been six at the time, she reflected on how much time had passed before selecting “The Best of Both Worlds” to play.

The selection meant more than sharing a preference. After discussing recent work, performances and fan encounters, she identified her own starting point. In that sense, the April 12 episode showed not only what she has been doing lately but also the earlier inspiration that helped make her who she is.

What episode four leaves behind: radio as a record of KANO MIYU’s present

Overall, the fourth episode of LOVE FM’s “Kanou no Kanou SAY!!”, broadcast on April 12, 2026, left an impression beyond routine promotion. It brought together her fan meeting, event appearances, local stage, first photo album, exchanges with listeners and personal roots in a relatively natural flow.

Her movement between Japan and Korea, expanding in-person fan contact, growing online responses and reconnection of personal and local history with performance are likely to be useful themes when following her next steps. By its fourth episode, the show seemed to be becoming more than an outlet for updates, gradually serving as an archive of her present.
