KANO MIYU sings spring at Hakata Station — Lions Sakura Festa 2026

A large regional cultural event at Hakata Station Plaza

“Lions Sakura Festa 2026,” held at Hakata Station Plaza in Fukuoka, Japan, drew a strong response from residents and tourists. Organized around the Lions Club, a community service organization, the large spring festival combined music, performances and local promotional programs.

A temporary stage stood on the western side of the station plaza. As a major transport, shopping and tourism hub, Hakata Station brought a constant flow of people past the event. The open format allowed residents and travelers using the station to encounter the performances naturally, rather than limiting them to a particular audience.

Performer boards and a timetable were displayed in front of the stage. Main guests included Crystal Kay, Keizo Nakanishi and idol group LinQ, alongside local artists and student teams who helped sustain a festival atmosphere throughout the day.

One of the performances attracting particular attention was KANO MIYU’s appearance in the evening.

A full timetable running from morning into the night

The festival began with an opening declaration at 11 a.m. Its timetable then moved through a variety of genres, with local cultural groups and student performances forming the core of the daytime program.

THE BIGROCK, Yukio Nagata and Mikotone appeared during the noon hour, followed by Princess KAGURA Japan and Beat All Right after 1 p.m. The 2 p.m. hour brought flamenco group Studio Canela Yuki and belly-dance group Mirey je brille, demonstrating the range of genres.

After 3 p.m., younger performance teams including M☆K ONE・TWO KIDS, Shining Star and O8 (Zero Eight) filled the stage. At 4 p.m., Kyushu Sangyo High School’s wind ensemble delivered a full-bodied sound. Energetic student performances and local arts groups connected naturally to shape the day’s flow.

The program showed a broad cultural event attentive to different generations and tastes, rather than a repetition of one genre. Families, people heading home from work, travelers and fans mingled freely as they enjoyed the performances.

Professional singers take over the evening program

As daylight began to fade after 5 p.m., professional singers became the focus. The timetable placed KANON’s live show in the 4 p.m. hour, followed after 5 p.m. by Hitomi Nakagawa and Erena Sakamoto.

A magic show by GO and a performance by traditional-instrument ensemble Warakudan Japan Marvelous lifted the atmosphere further. The combination of tradition and contemporary staging gradually concentrated the crowd’s attention.

The main evening program began after 6 p.m. KANO MIYU appeared during this period, followed by LinQ, a comedy performance by Blue River, Keizo Nakanishi after 8 p.m. and Crystal Kay at 9 p.m., building toward the finale.

Anticipation rises before KANO MIYU’s appearance

Originally scheduled for 6 p.m., her actual start was delayed by the preceding program until around 6:30. Such changes are common at outdoor events, but the wait heightened anticipation among fans awaiting the main stage.

Just before the performance, a change in seating arrangements also caused some confusion. Organizers announced priority for Lions Club members in the front seats, requiring people already seated to move. It was disappointing for those who had arrived early to secure a place, but the rearrangement proceeded in an orderly manner without major conflict.

Reallocation while some seats remained empty created a somewhat unsettled atmosphere, yet attention ultimately returned to the approaching performance. People prepared cameras and waited around the plaza, and the mood naturally became one of pre-show anticipation.

KANO MIYU makes her presence felt in four songs

Her set comprised four songs. Though short, it had a clear progression, each selection supplying a different mood within a complete performance. Rather than simply listing familiar numbers, it moved from an opening that closed the distance with listeners through an energetic middle to a lingering conclusion, leaving a strong impression.

She opened with “Ai no Battery (愛のバッテリー),” an effective choice for quickly lifting the mood through a familiar melody. The first verse was in Korean and the second in Japanese, naturally connecting two languages in one performance. Korean fans received familiarity and delight, while Japanese listeners found freshness and fun. Beyond a translated cover, it was a symbolic opening designed for audiences from both countries to enjoy together.

Second came Seiko Matsuda’s signature “Hadashi no Kisetsu,” a youthful Japanese pop classic that also drew renewed attention through the Japan–Korea music project “Change Street.” KANO MIYU’s clear voice added another color to the original’s bright seasonal lightness. In person, it sounded more animated than on a recording, and the crowd responded positively.

Third was her original “DO IT NOW.” Where the first two songs emphasized familiarity and freshness, this raised the temperature. Its bright, dynamic rhythm and forward-moving energy quickly changed the air. Moving beyond covers, she clearly displayed her own musical character and feel for performance. It offered perhaps the most direct sense of KANO MIYU as she is now.

The final song was the new “TERMINAL.” Its emotional melody and lingering development suited the close. Images of departure, arrival and something still to come, suggested by the title, seemed to surround the set. Ending with feeling rather than a flourish was a memorable choice, leaving an afterimage that could stay with listeners.

The four-song sequence condensed her varied appeal into limited time: familiar popular music, a classic from Japan’s idol era, an energetic original and an emotional new song. Together they conveyed vocal color, stage expression and interpretation. The brief performance felt substantial, making her presence more distinct within its constraints.

Steady singing amid outdoor-event uncertainties

What stood out was her steadiness amid external changes. Delays, seat moves and altered routes are among the unexpected situations common at outdoor events.

Once the show began, however, stable vocals and natural stage manners guided its flow. Outdoor plazas bring less consistent acoustics and more surrounding noise than indoor venues, yet her communicative singing and focused presentation made her presence felt.

Positioned within the main evening program, her set also played an important part in the event’s overall progression. Even afterward, audience attention remained around the stage for a while.

A brief exchange with fans after the performance

As performers and staff moved on after the show, fans exchanged short greetings around the stage before concluding their visit. Without the long routes and complex arrangements of a major concert, there was instead the intimacy of a local event where people shared the same space at close range.

Some staff reportedly expressed regret about the event’s operation, suggesting awareness of shortcomings separate from the performance itself. Overall, though, the schedule ended without a major incident, and responses indicated that the performance had left a satisfying impression.

A memorable stage on a spring evening in Fukuoka

“Lions Sakura Festa 2026” showed how a community event and popular performances can work together. The central setting of Hakata Station, a varied daylong program and main-artist appearances combined into one festival.

KANO MIYU’s live set helped define the evening program. Clear repertoire, steady singing and contact with the audience left a deep impression within a short time. It was another memorable scene created on a spring evening at Hakata Station Plaza.
