KANO MIYU’s Time Goes By: Returning to a Relationship in Another Voice

The title “Time goes by” immediately looks backwards. KANO MIYU’s performance in Change Street episode10 opens a different entrance from a song introducing a singer quickly to strangers. Its title approaches a relationship through what can be understood later rather than through the excitement of first meeting.
The programme’s official full-length upload identifies the ENA broadcast as March 6, 2026. Every Little Thing released the original single on February 11, 1998. Even through a new performance, the time accumulated by another singer remains behind the song.

What becomes visible after time has passed
A useful way into the song is less the certainty that time solves everything than the distance recognised afterwards. Words once thought sufficient can acquire another expression in memory. The present voice offers access to the speaker’s position of looking back.
Rather than waiting only for a large climax, follow what one sentence leaves for the next. Reflection can contain both conclusions and hesitation. Time becomes more than elapsed years: it becomes the distance from which someone tries speaking again.
Different ways of addressing love in one repertoire
“Password486,” introduced in connection with the same episode, specifies concrete rules for recognising affection. A retrospective relationship song sits alongside one articulating what love should look like now. Their contrast invites attention to different speakers performed by one singer rather than a ranking of national vocal styles.
The official full performance and broadcast clips offer different entrances to a stage. Interest in a short passage can lead back to the whole song. Instead of fixing Miyu’s voice to one familiar image, the relationship being voiced can change the focus of listening.
