Trot Girls Japan’s “The Beginning”: At the Closest Distance to Fans

TROT GIRLS JAPAN First Mini Concert & Fan Meeting
“The Beginning” opened the Korean stage story
Held on July 6–7, 2024, at Musinsa Garage in Seoul’s Mapo district, the mini concert and fan meeting looked like a quiet start: a live club, not a large hall, two days and a restrained name. Yet it served as the practical starting point making later shows and tours possible. Its significance exceeded its visible scale.
MBN’s Korea–Japan King of Singers and Korea–Japan Top Ten Show had created recognition, but converting broadcast interest into offline fandom was separate. This first test sold out every session immediately after opening, showing a team able to work in person, not just onscreen. The response in this small space sufficiently informed all subsequent scheduling.
A method chosen at the closest distance
Space was the key choice. At Musinsa Garage, extremely close distance conveys, beyond staging and screens, vocal texture, expressions and spontaneous reactions. The team chose the most direct way to reveal strengths.
This was not safe: small instabilities show at close range. That made it a test. People heard singing and observed attitude, breath and approach. Later stability in large halls can be seen as first secured in this intimate environment.
Trust accumulated through live performance
Television solo and unit highlights were reconstructed live. Unedited delivery clarified personalities; dynamics, easy breathing and gaze, often missed on screens, naturally stood out.
Listeners went beyond judging good singing. Accumulated live trust gave reasons to choose later large concerts. More than fan service, it was building trust as a performing team.
Communication beyond the stage
Question-and-answer sessions and games did more than change mood. They showed personalities and team relationships not fully seen on television. Questions narrowed the distance between stage figures and actual people.
This expanded one-way viewing into time made together. Familiarity grew visibly across two days, also beginning the stable atmosphere later felt in Seoul and Busan.
Naturally incorporating Japanese fan interaction
High-five or farewell events for everyone stood out. Familiar in Japanese fandom, they remain special in Korea. The team placed them naturally as a continuation of performance rather than isolated events.

A structure continuing greetings after the show, rather than ending connection, recurred on tour. It showed fans seen as people sharing the same time rather than spectators alone, a clue to rapidly formed cohesion.
A first check of team balance
Seven members took part: MIRAI FUKUDA, RIE UTAGOKORO, Aki Azuma, MAKOTO., AIKO SUMIDA, natsuco and MIYU. Showing individuality, they first checked how to place it within a team.
MIYU connected the mood gently. Moderate expression and stable attitude felt more persuasive nearby. The small-stage balance remained steady through expansion.

A stage anticipating every later scene
July, August 17 Seoul, August 31 Busan and November 17’s encore were not coincidences. The small stage had already supplied grounds for choosing the next step.
It first confirmed confidence that broadcast enthusiasm could become concerts and expand regionally. Thus it was not a result but a moment deciding direction.
As named, the beginning of every tour
Time made the title more accurate. Unspectacular days became the foundation for later stages. Close-range fandom, live persuasion and audience relationships decisively helped the team settle progressively into Korean performance.
Any retrospective must mention this small stage. Every tour starts with its quietest beginning.
